Making ABS Halloween Pins

Halloween-Pins-using Plasti-Block™ plastics

Happy Tuesday!

Don’t you just love October? The leaves are changing colors, hot chocolate is back in fashion, and of course the month is rounded off with the spooky spectacle that is Halloween.

This week’s Alternative Tuesday segment from the Acutabove Woodworking channel is a project to create your own personal Halloween pins out of our ABS plastic.

The pins are perfect for adding that extra something to a Halloween costume! Did you know that consumers in the US spend over $8 billion on Halloween-related purchases?

Goods ranging from costumes, decorations, and candy are plucked off shelves while activities such as pumpkin picking and haunted houses are enjoyed by Halloween lovers. This statistic, along with others such as nearly half of the US adult population will dress up for the occasion can be found in this interesting piece by Nicki Lisa Cole.

In this video, Ken uses only a scroll saw to cut ABS strips into spooky looking characters. This is a very simple yet effective way of creating a unique holiday experience and could be the perfect family project!

Be sure to check this channel out regularly for episodes using Plasti-Block™ plastics and get inspired by Ken’s creativity!

Background

The ‘Alternative Tuesday’ segment is a twist and exciting addition to the Acutabove Woodworking channel that was previously dedicated to woodworking. We are excited - along with Ken - to show the benefits of working with plastics.

Plasti-Block™ materials offer rich and vibrant colors that will not chip or fade quickly, are resistant to water and many chemicals, and enable you to build projects that are not very practical with wood or other materials.

Kennyearrings1 has many creative and inspiring ideas and will show you how to make a variety of your own personalized items such as kitchenware, keepsakes, and many more.
