Get ready! Get set! It’s game time! Happy Tuesday to you all!
On this week’s Alternative Tuesday segment, Ken uses our Plasti-Block™ 2” diameter ABS rods to fabricate all the pieces necessary to play a game called Twelvepins. For those of you that have never heard of this game - lest know anything about the rules - Ken does a great job of explain of explaining it in his video.
Twelvepins - or Mölkky as it is commonly known in Europe - is a fun game that was invented by a Finnish toy company back in 1996. The game involves throwing a specialized pin to at a set of 12 pins placed a small distance away from the participants. Your goal is to hit 50 points, a target that can be reached through a multitude of different combinations.
Twelvepins/ Mölkky is one of the most popular lawn games in Paris and there’s even a World Championship held annually! This year’s tournament was held in Prague in August and won by a team from Finland. For more information, check out the website at http://molkky.com/tournamentcalendar/.
Often, the game pieces are made out of wood. This is not a requirement and can work just as well with almost any other material - including plastic. Our 2” ABS rods are the perfect size for this game as you don’t even have to turn down the diameter - just shape the ends using a saw and play the game! Our wide range of colors available mean you can make whatever assortment of colored pins you want! Be sure to check this channel out regularly for episodes using Plasti-Block™ plastics and get inspired by Ken’s creativity!

The ‘Alternative Tuesday’ segment is a twist and exciting addition to the Acutabove Woodworking channel that was previously dedicated to woodworking. We are excited - along with Ken - to show the benefits of working with plastics.
Plasti-Block™ materials offer rich and vibrant colors that will not chip or fade quickly, are resistant to water and many chemicals, and enable you to build projects that are not very practical with wood or other materials.
Kennyearrings1 has many creative and inspiring ideas and will show you how to make a variety of your own personalized items such as kitchenware, keepsakes, and many more.
